MOVEMENT REPRESENTATIVES
& ACTIVISTS
We are aiming to welcome 60 Movement representatives from around the world to our conference. These group includes long-time participants in EDGE initiatives, and new allies nominated by the Conference Planning Committee and by EDGE members working across Latin America & the Caribbean.
Our goal through this process that was developed in partnership with the Conference Planning Committee is to strengthen existing partnerships while bringing in fresh regional perspectives that reflect the priorities of the Conference Planning Committee.
Our process holds these intentions:

-
De-center the funders and not have them be the gatekeepers to participation by relying mainly on nominations from EDGE members.
-
Honor existing relationships EDGE has with movement representatives who have signed up to be a part of the EDGE initiative spaces.

-
Leverage and listen to the expertise of the Conference Planning Committee, especially movement representatives, on voices and perspectives that need to be centered as well as particular groups that need to be invited. Give them more weight in decision making in this process.

-
Support those invited in understanding the EDGE conference, with as much clarity on expectations and opportunities for engagement as possible.

-
Balance global and regional representations as well as movement representation with a power and intersectionality lens.
